Art Through the Ages: Impressionism & Expressionism
Change of lesson plan today...we were going to go outside to paint to study Realism. But is rained all day...hoping it will be nice enough to do this tomorrow. Instead we went right into studying Impressionism in the morning. We learned about Monet's garden and then made impressionistic paintings with dots and then we created tissue paper gardens. In the afternoon we studied Expressionism. We made Expressionistic Portraits and then did Abstract Expressionism with Marbles. We finished off with a short film about Picasso. Everyone kept working on their weaving and some kids even finished the weavings too!
And everyone kept weaving!
We got so involved in the marble painting that I forgot to take pictures until the paintings were all finished!
Some of the finished weavings!
